Hans H. Binder explains his technique

While I was concentrated on the watercolour technique, so happened that I’ve developed in the course of time a very personal method of painting.

In process coincidence plays the main role. Coincidence becomes my ‘virtual companion.’ When I get hold of this companion, I get thrilled – the unknown can be tackled. New things, often messy ones are emerging, and it’s up to me to interfere.

I like this interaction between ‘chaos and the system’:  I like it, because it provokes me and at the same time challenges me.

To boost the process, the structure of the drawing paper is processed with various items such as: wallpaper, tissue paper, newsprint and crayons, permitting pure watercolours trickling off. And so on.

I call this technique ‘experimental watercolour.’
